How do I enroll for my benefits?
To enroll in any County-offered benefit options, you must attend an Employee Benefits Orientation session. Benefits Orientation is a 2-day mandatory New Employee Orientation (NEO): Offered every other Monday and Tuesday (of payday week). Click here to visit the County Benefits website.
You will have 60 days to enroll for benefits! Once a year, during Open Enrollment or within 60 days of a Qualifying Life Event, you may make changes.
Your comprehensive benefits package includes: Medical, Dental, and Vision; Life Insurance; a flexible Spending Account option for dependent care and unreimbursed healthcare expenses; a deferred compensation plan; an Employee Assistance Program; and other Voluntary Products such as accident and cancer insurance.
I have a question about my paycheck. Whom can I speak with?
Our payroll analysts are here to help!
For questions regarding your paycheck, you can email the SJGH Payroll Team at sjgh-payrollteam@sjgh.org.
What happens if I am a new employee who needs medical leave?
If you are a new employee who does not meet the criteria for the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) or California Family Rights Act (CFRA), please speak with your HR Analyst about requesting personal medical leave as a reasonable accommodation.
Proper documentation from your doctor may be required.
If I am a new employee, can I transfer to another department?
New employees are eligible for lateral department transfers. This means the position must be of equal equivalent salary, grade, and responsibility level.
If you are interested in a department transfer, please contact your HR Analyst for additional assistance.
How can I change my payroll information, including direct deposit?
Payroll forms and instructions can be found at https://sjgov.org/department/aud/program-services/forms/payroll-forms.
